Alice M. Bowles,
89, 1805 2nd Ave SW #115, Minot,
died Wednesday, August 29, 2007, in a Minot healthcare facility. Alice Welch was born January 24, 1918, in Rugby, ND, the daughter of Roy and Helen (Clark) Welch. She was raised and educated in Rugby, graduating from high school in 1936. Alice was united in marriage to Ivan Bowles May 29, 1940, in Rugby, ND. They made their home in Rugby, until moving to Minot in 1947. Ivan owned and operated Bowles trucking company from 1965-1982. Alice cared for the household and took tremendous pride in raising her family. Alice was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Minot and a past member of the Eagle’s Aerie and Elks Lodge auxiliaries, both of Minot. She enjoyed playing bridge, traveling, and bowling. Surviving family includes: Daughter: Sheila (Jim) Kane, Chandler, AZ; Grandchildren: Jim Kane III, Amy Boamah-Wiafe, and Steven Wiley; Great-Grandchildren: Haley and Lauren Kane, Tana, Courtney, Benjamin, Jonah, and Tatum Wiley; Blake and Beau Williams; Sisters: Helen Donelan, Colby, KS and Arla Puffer, Florence, AZ; dear friend: Betty Tweten, Minot; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Alice was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ivan, and son Roger.
