Clarence was born March 18, 1914, in Raub, ND, the son of Ernest and Minnie (Kindso) Nelson. He was raised in the Raub area and attended Parshall High School. Clarence was united in marriage to Clara Miller on August 3, 1940, in Sidney, MT. They made their home in Minot, where Clarence began employment with International Harvest in July 1939. The retail business was sold to the Krebsbach’s and he worked for them dealing International Harvester equipment as a parts man, delivery man, farm equipment manager, and salesman until his retirement in 1980. Clara died on February 10, 1969. Following his retirement, he spent winters in Mesa, AZ, where he was an active member of the Lawn Bowling Club Monta Vista, where he won many trophies. He was also a member of the Elks in Minot. Clarence spent summers at Lake Sakakawea, near Garrison, ND. In 2006, he moved to Trumann, Arkansas. In his younger days, he was an avid fisherman and hunter. Clarence loved sports, fixing and maintaining things, playing cards and dancing. He will be deeply missed by all who shared in his life. Surviving family includes: Longtime companion, Bernice Yuly, Trumann, AR; Daughter, Mary Herther, Buffalo Grove, IL; Granddaughters, Kristen Herther, Orland Park, IL and Tracy (Bill) Walters, Palmetto, GA; Great-Grandchildren, Kaylyn and Will Walters; Sister, Marjorie Folden, Edmonds, WA; Special friends, Carol and Jerry Stout, Linda and Clinton Wolf, and Curtis and Sharon Yuly; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Clara, sisters, Helen Snyder, Elsie Wendlick, Edith Nelson, and Brothers, Bob and Ralph Nelson and son-in-law, Lynn Herther.
