Delores ShillanderDelores I. Shillander, 75, Minot and formerly of the Bottineau area, died Thursday, October 25, 2007 in a Minot Hospital. 

Delores was born February 19, 1932 at Bottineau, North Dakota the daughter of Gust and Florence (Swensgard) Kornkven.     She was raised on the family farm near Carbury and educated at country schools in that area  She graduated from Bottineau High School and later from the State School of Forestry at Bottineau. 

Delores was united in marriage to Donald Shillander on September 23, 1953 at Rugby.They made their home in Minot that same year. Throughout the years, Delores was employed with Job Service of ND, General Motors Insurance and Finance (GMAC), and later with her husband at Buchholz Insurance Agency.  She retired in 1975.


Delores enjoyed hunting and ice-fishing.   She was one of few women to have had the honor of being able to go on a successful moose hunt.  She and Don were once longtime members of the Minot Moose Lodge, Eagles Aerie, Elks Lodge and American Legion Post #26. 

Delores is survived by her husband of fifty-four years, Don; Brother: Lyle (Carol) Kornkven, Casper, Wyo.; a number of nieces and nephews, including locally, Cindy Jundt and Michael Kornkven, both of Williston. 

Funeral service: Monday, October 29, 2007 at 11:00a.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Interment
: Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, rural Carbury, ND;
Visitation:
  At the request of the family, there will be no reviewal, however friends may sign the memorial register on Sunday from noon-5:00p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the American Diabetes Association or an organization of the donors choice.
