Dorothy ReinartsDorothy Mae “Dot” Reinarts, 78, Minot, passed away Monday, January 21, 2008 in a Bismarck Hospital. She waged a courageous fight with pneumonia until God finally took her home.

Dorothy was born August 13, 1929 at Roundup, Montana, the daughter of Carl and Lydia (Gutschmidt) Stack.  She moved with her family during her younger years to Crosby and attended schools there.  Her family moved to Harvey and then Minot, where she graduated from Minot High School in 1947.

While in high school, she met her future husband, Robert "Bob" Reinarts. They were united in marriage on February 18, 1950 in Minot.  They made their home in Minot where they raised their four children. Dot was a stay-at-home mom always ready to give plenty of "hugs" and have lots of home baked goodies for family and friends.  She was never happier than when she was surrounded by her children and later with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who all loved her so dearly.

Dot enjoyed gardening and tending to her flowers.  She loved to read, sew, needlepoint and play bridge.

Dot was given a second chance by receiving a "gift-of-life."  She received a donor kidney on February 8th, 1998.  This gift lead her down a path of many new friendships.  She was very active in a donor support group which provided her with much faith and hope for her and other transplant recipients and their families.

Her loving family includes:  Husband for over fifty-seven years, Bob; Children: Bruce (Darlene) Reinarts, Bismarck, David (Debbie) Reinarts, Garrison, Paula (David) Potter, Upland, CA and Peggy (Rick) Visina, Minot; Twelve Grandchildren and Four Great-Grandchildren; Brothers, Robert (Libby) Stack, Sequim Bay, WA, Raymond (Betty) Stack, Helena, MT and John (Vonnie) Stack, Minot.

Dot was preceded in death by her parents, and an infant daughter, Julie Ann.
