Ella V. Taylor, 86, Minot, died Tuesday, January 08, 2008, in a Minot care center. 

Ella (Kaufmann) Taylor was born December 1, 1921, in Zap, ND, to John and Ida (Renke) Kaufmann.  She attended country schools in the area and attended high school in Zap, ND. 

Ella was united in marriage to Elroy “Spike” Taylor in Minot.  They made their home there throughout the years, while she was employed at Woolworths, Fireside Lounge and Minot Public Schools as a secretary until her retirement in 1978. 

Following her retirement, they spent their winters in Mesa, AZ, for fifteen years, but returned to the Beulah Bay area to spend their summers at their cabin by Lake Sakakawea. 

She attended First Presbyterian Church, the Elks Auxiliary Club, and the American Legion Club Auxiliary, all of Minot. 

Ella enjoyed entertaining, baking, bingo, crossword puzzles, and her dog Buffy. 

Surviving family includes:  Children:  Douglas (Phyllis) Kirk, Minot, Shirley (Doug) Witikko, Minot, Rodney (Reva) Kirk, Saltillo, MS, Greg (Helen Erickson) Taylor, Minot, and Kevin (Cori) Kaufmann, Devils Lake, ND; Grandchildren:  Kerri, Chuck, Brent, Nicole, and Brock; Sister:  Lorie Kraft, Bismarck, ND; Niece:  Bobbie; Nephew:  Randy; Sister-in-Law:  Rose Taylor; Aunt:  Emma Richardson and several cousins. 

Ella was preceded in death by her parents and husband. 

Funeral Service:  Monday, January 14, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Interment:  Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND;
Visitation:  There will be no reviewal, however, family and friends are invited to sign the memorial register book on Sunday, January 13, 2008, from noon until 5:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials:  Memorials are preferred.
