Helen was born on December 8, 1934 in Selz, ND to Peter and Katherine (Leibham) Roerick. She was raised on the family farm north of Selz and attended rural school in that area. Helen was her father’s helper and she assisted him with planting and harvesting the small grains as well as cutting and hauling hay for the livestock. Helen was once married to Leo Grad. They moved to Portland, Oregon in 1953 where she was employed at the Nabisco Factory for many years. Helen married James Lincoln on August 31, 1979 in Vancouver, WA. They made their home in Gresham OR. Helen and James moved to Minot in May of 2006 to be nearer her siblings and their families. Helen was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church – Minot and a former member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Gresham where she was a “Braille worker” assembling Braille Bibles and devotional books for the blind. She served on the Altar Guild and Worship Committee. She is remembered by her minister as always willing to help and one who especially enjoyed traditional music and the liturgy. Helen loved her church and the people of Redeemer loved her. She will be greatly missed. She especially enjoyed flower gardening. Helen is survived by her husband of 28 years James; son: Richard (Connie) Grad of Gresham; grandchildren: Andrew (Christina) Grad and Tabitha Grad; great grandson: Marcus Grad; sisters: Pauline (Raymond) Goldade, Irene (Albert) Boehm and Maryann (Dennis) Grad all of Minot; Sally (Jim) Welk of Blaine MN, Albeana (Levi) Haluska of Harvey ND, Emily (Larry) Herbranson of Scottsdale AZ, Eva (Butch) Wentz of Bismarck ND and Juliana (Peter) Schmidt of Rolla Missouri; brothers: Peter (Louise) Roerick of Jamestown ND, Steven (Heidi) Roerick and Nick Roerick both of Fargo ND as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Helen was preceded in death by her parents.
