Irene Ovidia Helseth, 95, Minot and formerly of Carpio died on Thursday, December 27, 2007 in a Minot nursing home. 

Irene was born on January 12, 1912 in Carpio ND to Lowry and Jennie (Bjordahl) Helseth.  She was baptized on April 7, 1912 in Nazareth Lutheran Church, rural Carpio and confirmed October 31, 1926 in First Lutheran Church, Carpio.  She graduated from Carpio High School on June 12, 1932.  As a young adult Irene was employed as a clerk at the Carpio Post Office until she moved to Seattle WA where she was employed by Boeing Aircraft Company.  She moved to Tucson, AZ in 1947 where she met and married Al  Le Por.  They operated a hotel-restaurant business and sold real estate.  Following their divorce she moved to Minot where she was employed as a civil service employee at Minot Air Force Base.  Irene was once married to John Score.  Following her retirement she continued to reside in Minot most recently at Trinity Homes. 

Irene was a member of the Carpio Lutheran Church, American Legion and Eagles auxiliaries and Senior Citizens League.  Her hobbies and special interests included watching various sporting events and supporting the Minot State University, Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings athletic teams. 

Irene was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Isabelle Helseth, Helga Gilbertson, Lillie Benson, Julia Dahle and Tillie Sjoberg and brothers: Carl, Oscar and Sanford Helseth. 

She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Interment arrangements are pending.
Visitation:  There will be no reviewal but friends may sign a memorial register on Tuesday from noon until 4:00 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home – Minot.
Memorials are preferred to the Carpio Lutheran Church.
