James was born February 25, 1923, at Dublin, Indiana, the son of Philemon Forrest and Mary (Gilbert) Macy. He graduated from high school in Cambridge City, Indiana in 1941, and entered into active duty service with the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He served his country for three years and was united in marriage to Dorothy Jean Snyder on January 25, 1944, at Indianapolis, IN. James graduated from Indiana University with a degree in Business in 1947, and began a career in selling life insurance. They spent most of their life in Cincinnati, until moving to Vincennes, IN, for a short time to be nearer their daughter and family. They moved to Minot in September of 2006 to be nearer his son and family. He was a gifted classical pianist and vocalist. He used his talents from the Lord to serve the Lord and most recently served as an elder in the Church of the Covenant (PCA) in Cincinnati. His greatest legacy as the patriarch of the Macy Family was passionately exposing his family to God’s saving grace through his personal relationship with Jesus Christ. His loving family includes: ever-loving wife of sixty-two years, Dorothy; loving son: Bob (Candy) Macy, Minot; loving daughter, Linda (Tom) Simpson, Vincennes, IN; Grandchildren: Ann (Kelly) Marley, Vincennes, IN, Forrest, Daniel Macy, Minot, and Matthew Simpson, Indianapolis, IN; Great-Grandchildren: Elisabeth, Hannah, Caroline and Nathaniel Marley; Brother: Joseph (Donna) Macy, Indianapolis, IN. Funeral service: Thursday, January 4, 2007, at
1:00 p.m. in Our Redeemer’s Lutheran Brethren Church, Minot;
