Mabel C. Johnson, 90, Minot, died Wednesday, April 04, 2007, in a
Minot nursing home.
Mabel Riehle was born January 11, 1917 in Stearns County near Farming,
Minnesota, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Meyer) Riehle. She moved
with her family to Foxholm, ND, and graduated from Foxholm High School.
Mabel was united in marriage to Clayton E. Johnson on April 18, 1939, at St.
Mary's Catholic Church in Foxholm. They resided in Grand Rapids, MN until
the mid 1940's and then moved to Minot where she lived until her death.
After the death of her husband she worked as a waitress at the Beaver Palace
Restaurant and later at Norge Village Laundromat. Clayton died on May 10,
1957.
She was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church. Mabel enjoyed sewing and
going for rides in the country.
Mabel is survived by her sons, Roger (Carolyn) Johnson, Centraila, WA and
Robert (Eileen) Johnson, Williston, ND; Grandchildren, Elizabeth Johnson,
Centraila, WA, Jackie Johnson, Fargo, ND, Joy (Shawn) Quitberg, Valley City,
ND, and Jan (Justin) Germundson, Horace, ND. Great-Grandchildren, Samantha,
James, Travis & Dillon, Fargo, ND and Ella Joy, Horace, ND.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two brothers, Richard
and Walter Riehle.
Funeral Service: Monday, April 9, 2007, at 1:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family
Funeral Home, Minot, ND;
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND;
Visitation: Sunday, January 14, 2007, from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. at the
Thomas Family Funeral Home of Minot.
