Shirley Marie Omvig, 65, Minot, formerly of Bisbee, passed away Saturday, May 10, 2008, in a Minot Hospital.

Shirley was born January 24, 1943, the daughter of Elmer and Sylvia (Christopherson) Church.  She was raised and educated in Bisbee, and graduated from Bisbee High School in 1960.  She was active in band and was also a majorette in cheerleading.

Shirley was united in marriage to Larry Omvig on March 8, 1960, in Bisbee.  They moved to Lansford, ND, where they raised their family.  They moved to Minot in 1984.  Shirley was a wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Shirley enjoyed gardening, fishing, and loved spending time with her family.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lansford.

Surviving family includes:  Husband:  Larry, Minot; Children:  Kevin Omvig, Minot, Trish Omvig and (Sharlet) Cannon Falls, MN, Deb (Jeff) Johnston, Nerstrand, MN, Laurel (Tim) Blackowiak, Dundas, MN; Grandchildren:  Adam and Bobbi Omvig, Minot, Andy, Alex, and Dana Johnston, Nerstrand, MN, Travis and Jenna Fredrick, Dundas, MN, Saterra, Santana, Devin Omvig, Bliss, ID; Great-grandchildren:  Micheal and DaySun Skar, Minot; Brothers:  Gary (Myrna) Church, Aurora CO, Vernon (Julie) Church, Devils Lake; Sisters:  Darlene (Ken) Yantes, Brocket, ND, Charolotte (Elliot) Weimer, Moffit, ND; and several nieces nephews, and cousins.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, son:  Terrial Omvig and brother:  Larry Allan Church.

Funeral:  Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at 10:00 a.m., in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot   
Interment:  Mylo Lutheran Cemetery, Mylo, ND
Visitation:  Tuesday, May 13, 2008, from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
