Warren was born May 31, 1922 at McClusky, North Dakota, the son of Carl and Maggie (Rott) Lang. He was raised and educated at Turtle Lake. Warren was united in marriage to Martha Hofer on November 2, 1941 at Sawyer. He entered into active duty service with the U.S. Army in 1942, serving in the South Pacific of World War II until receiving his honorable discharge in 1946. Warren and Martha made their home in Minot, where he worked as a journeyman for Drawz Heating Company. After receiving his master heating license he was self-employed until beginning work in civil service work at the Minot Air Force Base doing sheet metal work from 1964 - 1984. After retiring, Warren enjoyed working at the Souris Valley Golf Course as a Ranger. He was a longtime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Minot, where he was active in a number of capacities, including singing in the choir, serving as Church elder and President of the Congregation. He had been a member of the Legion, V.F.W, Eagles and Elks Club’s all of Minot. His loving family includes: his wife of sixty-six years, Martha; Children: Connie (Lee) O’Connor, Kevin (Terri) Lang, Keith (Varden) Lang, all of Minot, and Kim (Leslie) Lang, Stanley; Grandchildren: Sarah (Daniel) Sem, Kasey Lang, Cassi (Christophe) Audette, Kristen Lang, Gwendy (Tim) Van Dongen, and Jada Lang; Great-Grandchildren: Madison, Maggie and Mahlee; Sister: Bernyce Koenig, Las Vegas, NV; Brother: Jack (Hazel) Lang, Jacksonville, FL; Sisters-in-Law: Jean Kringen, Minot, Emma Schmidt, Minot and Polly Retzlaff, Startup, WA; a number of nieces and nephews. Warren was preceded in death by his parents; daughter-in-law, Elaine Lang; brothers, George Lang, Harris Lang and Wilmer Lang; sisters, Olivia Helm, Alvira DeVall, Florence Jesser, Lillian Miller and Eunice Klimpel.
