Wayne A. Halling, 83, 554 28^th Ave S.W. Minot and formerly of the Wolford area, died Saturday, January 20, 2007 in a Minot Hospital.

Wayne was born November 2, 1923 at Bisbee, North Dakota the son of John and Amanda (Lundeen) Halling.   He was raised and educated near Wolford and graduated from Wolford High School in 1941.   He joined his family in the operation of the family farmstead at an early age and raised, trained and raced Standardbred horses.    He raced at County Fairs throughout much of North and South Dakota, Minnesota and Canada. 

Wayne was united in marriage to Eunice Klostermann on March 22, 1969 at the First Presbyterian Church, Minot.  They made their home on the family farm, where they farmed near Wolford in Pierce County throughout the years.   He retired in 1984 due to ill health.   After nearly seventy years on the family farm, they moved to Minot in 1994, where they have since made their home.

Wayne enjoyed hunting and fishing, as well as curling during the winter months.

He is survived by his loving wife of thirty-seven years, Eunice.  His sisters-in-law: Doris Christensen, Minot, Arlene Klosterman, Minot and Beverly Halling, Hawaii; several nieces, nephews and cousins, along with very special friends: Jean Frederickson, Marcy McNair and Stephanie Lipp all Minot.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ronald, brothers-in-law: Ralph Christensen and Earl Klosterman and nephew: Kent Christensen.

 Funeral service: Saturday, January 27, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. in Bread of Life Lutheran Church, Minot;
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot;
Visitation: Friday from 2:00-7:00pm in the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials are preferred to Bread of Life Lutheran Church or Halling Cemetery Association, rural Bisbee.
